Jehan is a tattoo artist working at North SF, located in San Francisco.
She draws inspiration from nature patterns, surrealism, medieval illustration and her Iraqi/Turkish/Texan background. Her primary focus is cymatics in tattooing, designs that are informed by sound visualization using water as the medium.
She studied fine art/visual design in Istanbul and will always have a dual passion for analog craftsmanship and digital innovation. Her portfolio spans from 3D works, oil paintings and now tattoos. Moving between diverse landscapes, different languages, rhythms and ways of living made her deeply aware of how humans and landscape influence one another.
“ Studying cymatic patterns has continued that conversation for me. At home, I built a setup where I use water and my keyboard to translate audio frequencies into physical patterns. Each tattoo becomes a captured moment in time that belongs only to that person and can not be replicated again. I look at water cymatics, as connection to source. A wise relative. We are largely composed of water, our hearts beat, and we breath at a cadence that reflects melody. We are always in motion and changing. This practice has given me access to a flow state, where creation feels like complete and total presence.

“I had such a lovely experience at North SF. The studio is beautiful, super clean, cozy, and it even smells amazing. The whole space has such a calm, welcoming vibe that immediately puts you at ease.
I got my first tattoo (an X-ray iris) with Jehan (@jehan.ink on instagram), who was so great to work with. She was incredibly easy to communicate with—so warm, friendly, and accommodating from the very beginning. When she sent over the first few design drafts, I felt totally comfortable giving her feedback and asking for adjustments—something that can feel intimidating sometimes, but never did with her. I could share my ideas with her, and she always took them seriously without ever trying to push her own vision onto me. At the same time, she offered thoughtful suggestions that really helped shape the design and made sure it stayed true to the style I wanted. She had such a good sense of how to guide the process while still keeping my voice at the center of it.
Since I was going for a somewhat delicate design, Jehan was super mindful of that and checked in often during the session to make sure the tattoo wasn’t getting too dark or heavy. She had a great instinct for knowing when to stop adding ink, and her attention to detail really made a difference. The session was so calm and gentle, that I even took a little nap while she was working, which says a lot about how relaxing the experience was. Healing was completely smooth with no issues at all.
All in all, I couldn’t recommend Jehan and North SF more. It was such a peaceful, thoughtful, and positive experience from start to finish. I’m very happy with how my iris turned out and I will be coming back for more.”

“I came to Jehan with a motif that was very dear to me from a divination reading that I wanted to get inked by her specifically because I absolutely love her dark, edgy, and brutally romantic aesthetic <3. She did such an incredible job going back and forth with me and making sure it was exactly how I wanted it in size, location, shading, and thickness. While tattooing, she made sure I was in comfortable positions and i was even able to rest for a lot of it! She intuited ample breaks for me to stretch, pee and get water. her precision is so appreciated and it’s clear she takes such care and finds so much joy in her craft. She even had me come in for a touch up a few months later! the image is stunning and i’m so looking forward to going back to her for more ink ♥️”
