Precare + Aftercare

Here are some notes for you to consider. It’s important to leave your Saniderm on for 5 days. Refer to ‘Aftercare’ located in my highlights on instagram for proper removal. Your tattoo is an open wound for the first few weeks. Proper aftercare is essential to ensure clean healing and keep your fine lines crisp.

PRECARE

• Practice good skin care on your tattoo area. Apply any kind of lotion 1-2x daily.

• No excessive alcohol.

THE DAY OF YOUR TATTOO

• No alcohol.

• Have a GOOD MEAL right before your appointment, do not go on an empty stomach.

•  Wear comfortable, loose clothes drink lots of water!

• Bring sunglasses or a cap for comfort as I need bright lights to tattoo.

• No painkillers (blood thinners) if needed, take it after your appointment.

• No excessive caffeine.

•  Bring snacks if you’d like.

•  Bring headphones or something for entertainment. I do my best work with minimal talking while actively tattooing.

• We will review the design before placing the stencil and make any necessary/desired adjustments.

AFTERCARE

•  Fineline tattoos are especially prone to damage is not properly cared for.

• If you received Saniderm (second skin bandage): Leave on for 5 days if it stays sealed properly. That means no water or debris is going into the saniderm and onto your tattoo. You can shower with the bandage on using warm (not hot) water, night of the appointment.

• Don’t do anything that forces you to sweat or heat up. No light jogging or working out for at least 5 days. Walks are okay.

• It is normal for fluid to build up in the saniderm.

•  To remove saniderm, it's best done under running water like the shower, pulling the bandage slowly parallel to skin (like command strip). Check my highlights ‘Aftercare’ for demo.

•  Use unscented aftercare tattoo ointment. Aquaphor is good.

• Avoid sun exposure in the tattooed area for at least 2 weeks.

• Avoid working out for 5 days (while saniderm is on)

• Avoid sweating, saunas, hot tub, hot showers.

• Stay very hydrated. Drink your water.
